Since making the Finals 3 years ago, the Mavericks have not done much. However, the Mavs have been consistent, winning 50 games in each of the last nine seasons. Now, pretty much the rest of the league overlooks the Mavs as serious contenders and why shouldn’t they? The Mavs only winning one playoff series since going to the Finals but guard Jason Terry does not mind being over looked, “if they are asleep, they are gonna wake up quick, obviously with our style of play, we’re gonna be up and down, we’re gonna be running,†said Terry. The Mavs have brought in some new faces to go along with some old faces. Shawn Marion came over from Toronto in a trade in which Dallas gave up basically nothing. Marion, paired with star Dirk Nowitzki should give the Mavs a formidable front court. Dallas also signed forward/center Drew Gooden in hopes to be able to get some offensive production from the center position. With a bunch of players over 30 years old and not getting any younger, the Mavs better take advantage of what Jason Kidd and Nowitzki still have left.
